A huge congratulations to Claire Shepard, Nupafeed Senior Discovery Champion, riding the 6yr old bay gelding, Priestown Rocco.
The Senior Discovery was held on the last day of the British Showjumping National Championships, Sunday 18th August at the NAEC, Stoneleigh. Claire fought off a 63 strong field, each entry having qualified through two rounds of competition earlier in the year.
The Lancashire based showjumper was one of 28 forward for the jump off and she won in a time of 39.24 seconds. “As one of the last to go in the in the jump-off I knew I had my work cut out to beat the time of 39.28 seconds set by Zoe Potter. He is a quick horse but I wanted to make sure he went clear,” explained Claire.
Priestown Rocco is known as Rocco at home and has been owned by Kelly Roberts since he was four. Claire’s aim over the past 12 months has been to bring Rocco up the ranks which she has successfully done. “This is our biggest win together so far so I couldn’t be happier with him. He is now going to have two days of rest in the field before they head off to Addington for the six year old class next week.”
