2019 saw Nupafeed Ireland’s first year of sponsorship with Wexford Equestrian Centre. The Stepping Stones to Success League is designed for horses to return over a number of weeks, allowing them to learn and develop.
For each round, the horses were scored by four judges on a dressage test, a technical course of cross country style fences and conformation. The total prize fund was €1500 with rosettes, sashes and a rug going to the winner of each round.
Brendan Healy, Nupafeed Ireland said “Nupafeed is delighted to be supporting The Stepping Stones Ireland League in 2019. The thoroughbred section is a great class for us, particularly with regard to our Calmer, as so many of these horses have incredible talent, hampered only by exuberant or anxious temperaments! Stepping Stones is a great platform to help build Nupafeed’s customer base in Ireland, whist also giving back to our equestrian community. We very much look forward to working with Wexford EC.”
The ‘hooves down’ winner was Patrick Byrne and Destination Street. The 6yr old chestnut gelding, owned by Thomas Byrne, by Thewayyouare, won each of the five weeks of competition taking home a stash of Nupafeed rugs and the €700 first prize.
Second went to Cathal Daniels on his own and Kylemore Stud’s stallion, KMS Timeless. Cathal also won the award for the highest placed U25 rider.
Third went to Christine Keymer riding her own, Watar Whiskey.
